Grounds for Health Board Retreat @ Coffee Enterprises
Last week, non-profit Grounds for Health held its annual board retreat at Coffee Enterprises in Burlington, Vermont. Grounds for Health is an international non-profit that works with coffee-growing communities to establish sustainable cervical cancer prevention programs. Cervical cancer is the #1 cause of cancer death for women in low-resource settings, killing more than 288,000 women globally each year. We were more than happy to accommodate this great organization with our meeting facilities.
Coffee Enterprises owner and founder Dan Cox is currently president of the Grounds for Health Board, and attended all three days of the retreat. On the second day, when program directors Martha Caswell and Elisa Vandervort asked for a volunteer to perform a mock Single Visit Approach, Dan obliged. The Single Visit Approach is a low-resource-appropriate method for detecting and killing potentially cancerous cells. View the photos below.
Best of luck to Grounds for Health and its on-going mission to help fight cervical cancer.
